Malaysia contract manufacturing uses a Malaysian producer to manufacture, assemble or package products for another business under agreed technical and commercial controls.
| Checkpoint | Question to resolve |
|---|---|
| Entity | Which legal business will contract, invoice and receive payment? |
| Site or basis | Which facility, standard or rule supports the supplier’s claim? |
| Release | What evidence must be approved before the order, shipment or payment proceeds? |
The sourcing decision
Qualify the exact site and production line. Assign ownership of materials, tooling, test methods, product approvals, change control and excess or obsolete inventory. Record which imported inputs the manufacturer must secure.
Documents and checks
Keep the agreement, approved sites, specification, bill of materials, validation, quality plan, lot records, release evidence and shipment documents.
Regulated and high-specification products may require approvals that belong to a particular facility or process. A site transfer can therefore require requalification.
