An ASEAN supplier is a supplier established in an ASEAN member state. The description identifies location or corporate establishment, but does not by itself establish origin, manufacturing role or preferential tariff eligibility.
| Checkpoint | Question to resolve |
|---|---|
| Entity | Which legal business will contract, invoice and receive payment? |
| Site or basis | Which facility, standard or rule supports the supplier’s claim? |
| Release | What evidence must be approved before the order, shipment or payment proceeds? |
The sourcing decision
Record the supplier’s legal country, actual production sites, exporter, input sources and commercial role. Evaluate capability and risk at the facility level.
Documents and checks
Keep legal-entity evidence, site verification, quotation, specification, origin documents, shipping records and payment details.
Buying from an ASEAN company does not prove the goods were made in ASEAN or satisfy an ASEAN trade agreement’s rules of origin.
