Contract packaging is the outsourced packing, repacking, labelling or assembly of products by a specialist provider. The provider may work with finished goods supplied by the brand or combine products and packaging from several sources.
Specify the packing operation
Define the bill of materials, artwork revision, pack sequence, seals, coding, label placement, acceptable tolerances and finished-case configuration. State who releases components and who approves the first completed run.

Quality and ownership
The agreement should cover damage, scrap, rework, unused components, intellectual property and product release. A packer’s completion notice is not a substitute for the agreed acceptance evidence.
