A THB-to-PHP business payment converts Thai baht into Philippine pesos for a supplier or operating expense. Thailand and the Philippines are geographically close, but the transfer crosses jurisdictions, banking calendars and payment systems. The payer should compare route evidence, not assume proximity means instant delivery.
Follow the invoice currency
A peso invoice should normally be settled in PHP unless the parties document another arrangement. Sending THB to a supplier that expected PHP can shift conversion cost and reconciliation work to the Recipient.

Thailand’s domestic rail is one part of the picture
The Bank of Thailand describes BAHTNET as high-value financial infrastructure that settles eligible transfers between participating institutions on a real-time gross settlement basis. That domestic capability does not itself define a THB-to-PHP supplier route.

Suppose THB 300,000 is quoted at an illustrative 1.82 PHP per THB. The gross converted amount is PHP 546,000. If the payer also pays THB 300 in fees, the total debit becomes THB 300,300. Any intermediary or receiving deduction must be tracked separately. This is not a current rate.

Thailand's domestic payment systems do not by themselves complete every Philippine payment. A bank or cross-border provider needs an approved international route and, for a peso payout, currency conversion and Philippine receiving method.
Should a Thai business pay a Philippine supplier in THB or PHP?
Use the contract currency. PHP gives a peso invoice a fixed settlement amount. THB can fit when the supplier invoices in baht and has an eligible THB account with understood receiving terms.
How can a business compare THB-to-PHP quotes?
Capture quotes close together for the same THB amount, Recipient and payout method. Compare the customer rate, transfer fee, possible intermediary deductions, total THB debit and expected PHP amount.
Does proximity make Thailand-to-Philippines payments faster?
Not necessarily. Timing depends on funding, cut-offs, screening, currency conversion, the provider's route, Philippine payout rail and Recipient bank. Geographic proximity does not remove these steps.
