Are SWIFT codes different for business accounts?
Business and personal accounts generally use the same institution-level SWIFT/BIC. Receiving instructions can still differ by legal entity, account currency, product or correspondent route.
How to choose the correct Azerbaijan bank code
- Identify the payment route. International wires commonly request the SWIFT/BIC. A domestic workflow may request the six-digit bank code.
- Match the legal institution. Use the exact bank named in the beneficiary instructions.
- Check the account currency. Foreign-currency payments may include correspondent-bank details.
- Confirm before release. Verify changed or first-time instructions with a known contact at the recipient business.

Does the bank code replace the beneficiary account number?
No. A payment still requires the beneficiary’s account or IBAN and any currency-specific receiving instructions.
Are these codes different for business accounts?
The institution codes are generally shared across customer types. Receiving instructions can still differ by legal entity, account currency or payment route.
How should Azerbaijan bank details be verified?
Compare the bank code and SWIFT/BIC with current instructions issued for the beneficiary account before releasing funds.
