The Central Bank register establishes the licensed institution, bank code and SWIFT/BIC. It does not show that every account can receive every currency or transfer type. Compare the table with instructions issued for the beneficiary account.

Are SWIFT codes different for business accounts?

Business and personal accounts generally use the same bank-level SWIFT/BIC. Instructions can still differ by legal entity, branch, account currency, product or correspondent route.

How to choose the correct Armenian bank code
  1. Identify the payment route. International wires commonly request the SWIFT/BIC. A domestic workflow may request the five-digit bank code.
  2. Match the licensed bank. Use the exact institution named in the beneficiary instructions.
  3. Check the account currency. Foreign-currency payments may include correspondent-bank details.
  4. Confirm before release. Verify changed or first-time instructions with a known contact at the recipient business.

No. A payment still requires the beneficiary’s account details and any currency-specific receiving instructions.

Are these all licensed banks in Armenia?

The table follows the 17 banks shown on the Central Bank of Armenia licensed-bank register when checked on October 15, 2026.

How should the codes be verified before payment?

Compare them with current instructions issued for the beneficiary account and confirm the bank entity, account currency and transfer route.
